DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 3992B, 22J, World War II era Navigation Master Watch made for British military use, 16S, chrome-plated base metal OF original case with Ministry of Defence (English spelling) pheon on rear as well as Hydrographic Services (HS3) contract markings which have been overscored, white enamel dial with pheon, SW-hack-set with sweep-seconds, fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, mvt marked "U.S. Govt," striped pattern nickel damascene, mvt s#3C2185. It is believed that 2494 total Grade 3992B movements were produced. From the Estate of Michael "Skip" Marrone.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some micro-fine scratches to sweep-seconds bridge, few micro-fine scratches to balance cock; flawless dial; mint hands; case shows very light wear, profuse fine to micro-fine scratches, excellent contract marking detail, circular rear finish remains present, some chrome loss of center rear; tight bow, crown shows light wear; plastic crystal with scattered scratches.
